Its been more then a few years since tv and white good rental companies were on the main high streets and this has resulted in a lot of people thinking that tv and white good rental either isn't available anymore or is old fashioned and has had its day. But lets use a modern day comparison to show you why this simply isn't the case.

Most people these days have a mobile phone

While some people do prefer to buy their mobiles, a lot of people (including me) prefer to get their mobile as part of a 18 month or these days more likely a 24 month contract. When entering such a contract I am sure you are more then aware that your monthly tariff includes paying for the phone, therefore basically what you have is a rent to buy contract for the mobile with an additional calls and data tariff.

So if we are willing to rent our mobiles, why do we not have the same mentality when it comes to renting our tv's and washing machines?

Technology changes so quickly these days that its hard to keep up, CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) became LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) and then LCD became LED (Light Emitting Diode) then LED became Smart! The future (at present) in the TV market looks to be OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) and UHD (Ultra High Definition) but who knows? If you want to stay up to date with the latest tech, being able to upgrade your equipment anytime is obviously fantastic, and will save you money over having to buy new every 12 months.

Renting your equipment will also protect you from technology that doesn't quite make the grade. A great example is all the customers who rented HD DVD players from us only to find that it was superceded by Blu-ray. All of these customers simply upgraded their equipment to Blu-Ray without the expense of buying new equipment and being left with worthless equipment. Another example would be all our customers upgrading their analogue equipment to digital for the recent switch over.

What happens when a television or washing machine you have purchased goes wrong? Although all new equipment from the leading manufacturers will come with a warranty, it may be a week before they come to view the equipment at your premises. Then if the problem can't be fixed at your premises your equipment will be taken away to be fixed which could take another week (or longer).

How long could you live without your washing machine? How long could you live without TV? (its just to horrible to think about).
